The pattern we have seen this winter —  extreme cold followed by some brief warming — makes the ice very vulnerable, Milwaukee’s WTMJ4 reports.

WTMJ4 ‘s Jesse Ritka, with the help of Milwaukee’s fire and rescue squad, found out first hand how easily it is to fall through seemingly solid ice — especially that with a current or varying water levels such as you find in a river.
